C A R O B E S A F E T Y
In CAROBE Construction, we enforce Cal-OSHA regulations, in order to protect our employees from an accident.
These rules apply to all employees, subcontractors and any person entering the job site. CAROBE personel and subcontractors will be responsibily for following and enforcing all the rules, regulations and policies, including Federal, State and Local laws, regulations and safety policies.
On site supervisors are accountable for enforcing all safety regulations in the job site, they are expected to create a safe work environment for employees and subcontractors.
Organize a 10 day safety meeting with CAROBE employees and subcontractors present on the job site, and up date them with the latest information and industry accidents in order to prevent them from directly affecting our work force.
Employees: Must follow and apply all the safety principles as a condition for employment.
Report any accident to their inmediate supervisor.
Must be present at all safety meetings.
Subcontractors: Must follow and apply all the safety principles as a condition for employment.
As for CAROBE Construction, all subcontractors must have active insurance policy to protect their workers in case of an injury.
When present, attend safety meetings.
Participate in all accident investigations involving subcontractor's employees.
Daily tailgate meetings
Are conducted by supervisors, lead craft or foremen every day, before the start of each work shift.
Work force to be informed of tasks to be performed and the best and safest way to perform them.
Incident investigations.
When an accident happens, it must be investigated as soon as the accident is reported.
On site supervisor should ensure that the injured worker is provided with the proper medical attention.
Safety Observations.
OSHA requires periodic inspections and audits in all the construction industry and CAROBE construction is commited to perform and enforce any Cal-OSHA regulation.
All the documentation that is a result from such audits, are to be kept for a minimum of three (3) years.

Excavations and Trenches: Identify hazards and provide easy access and egress
Welding: Inspect equipment and wear proper PPE
Confined Space: Identify hazards and make sure before entering, that all the precautions, conditions and requirements have been implemented.
Electrical: Only electrical contractors to perform electrical tasks.
Electrical Equipment: Must be inspected prior the start of each work shift.
Scaffold and Ladders: Inspected every day before any task to be performed, and to be used responsibly following Cal-OSHA rules and codes.
Use of Electrical and Pneumatic Tools: Only trained personel should use tools that involve serious risk of an injury.
Sharp Points: Identify and eliminate Sharp Points, they are a very common sourse of injuries in the construction industry.
Compressed Air: Before, during and after every work shift, all compressors must be bleeded to make sure of suitable functioning of tools, and also to ensure the safefy of the workers.
Driving; An essential daily task, must be performed responsibly. When driving a company vehicle, It is a must to have a valid driver license and liability insurance.
Material Handling: CAROBE workers, To follow all the ergonomics when lifting or handling objects, it is important that, when using or handling hazardous materials
, to have access to the product MSDS to identify the hazards that the product involves.
All CAROBE workers, by regulation, must wear protective gear,included but not limited to:
Hard hat Safety Glasses Ear Plugs (When High noise)
Gloves Full length Pants Foot Protection
Fall Protection (when needed)
In addion, when working over 6 foot, on a dangerous surface, any worker involved in such task, is to wear a fall protection device.(Harness).
